I made this a few nights ago. Served it over multi grain rice. Very yummy and filling. Left overs were good for work lunches for a few days. Freezes well too. - 1/11/09

This recipe is great! But I did spice it up! I added more ginger and used chopped garlic instead of powder! I also used 1 tbsp low sodium soy sauce and 1 tbsp low sodium teriyaki sauce. I also added some red pepper flake for heat. I stir fried some veggies and served it with that.

Loved this!I served it over white rice and added sauteed broccoli to the dish to up the veggies.
Also, I never use corn starch to thicken, I have a couple different tricks, but for this recipe I pureed about half a can of carrots w/ some of the pineapple and stirred it in to thicken, upping the veg

It is the crock pot now - easy to prepare - followed other comments and added minced garlic, ginger and added chili pepper flakes. I also left out the brown sugar since some say too sweet. We will see how it is after work. - 1/20/09

I loved this so much. I'll admit, it lacked color but that can be easily solved. Easy to make, though I would suggest cooking it on low instead of high. - 6/6/10

This was good, but as others have said, a little bland. I used just a little teriyaki sauce as a condiment and it made the dish. - 12/29/09

Yummy! I made it with chicken thighs and used the pressure cooker. This is now one of hubby's favorite recipes. Really good as leftovers!

Just tried this tonight, and made it with fresh ginger and garlic, and it tasted great! My hubby liked it too, which says alot seeing as he hates pineapple! Thanks for a great recipe! I'll make it again for sure

I made this on the stovetop because I didn't have the time to make it in the slow cooker.

This was a tasty recipe but a bit too sweet for my liking. I would have it again but not very often. It makes a nice change from the ordinary.

I made this for dinner tonight and served it over some rice. It was very easy to prepare. Next time I will add a bit more ginger and garlic to boost the flavors. The house smelled great while everything was cooking! - 12/16/08

I prefer something with more complex flavors... wasn't sure what to add to it to round it out. I upped the ginger and garlic per others' suggestion. Tasted fine. - 5/3/11

Chicken is sooo tender from the slow cooker and the flavors are were just enough for my boyfriend and I. No flavor overpowered the dish but it was all very flavorful and balanced. The pineapple adds a nice texture too. Delicious and easy! - 2/23/11

The chicken turns rubbery when slow cooked. This might be good if cooked on the stove top. I did like the pineapple. - 11/23/10

We didn't care much for this recipe. The only change I made was substituting fresh ginger for the ground ginger. We thought it was too sweet and had too much sauce. I served it over brown rice. Thanks for submitting, but we thought it was only ok. - 7/19/10

I made this a few nights ago and it was really, really good. I added extra water so that we had plenty of "gravy" to pour over the chicken and the rice I served with it. - 7/8/10

Tasty! I added zucchini. You can also throw everything in (except the cornstarch) at the beginning, and that comes out great too. - 4/14/10

We liked the taste of this, but it was too thick. Next time, we'll probably try another way of thickening it besides corn starch. We also used fresh pineapple, so that may have had less liquid in it. - 2/7/10

Added carrots, green pepper, sweet onion in place of green onion and additional Soy Sauce; served over brown rice. Even the grandkids and men at the table enjoyed this. Just wish recipes that we alter could be easily changed on Spark with correct nutrition items. - 1/28/10

I made it for my dinner tonight, it was unbelievable! I browned the chicken in vegetable oil, then added it to the crock-pot. I used low-sodium soy sauce, and minced garlic. It reminded me of sweet n sour chicken. - 8/6/09

I tried this on the stove top and the sauce had a nice flavor but the chicken didn't pick up any of the taste. Maybe the slow cooker is the key but it seems like a long time to cook chicken strips even that way. - 6/30/09

I just started something similar to this in my crock-pot, only with lean thick-cut pork chops, and honey instead of brown sugar. Found your recipe after I started mine cooking, will add some of your ideas to mine & see how it comes out! - 6/17/09
