Introduction

This mixture of apples and cinnamon warmed on the stove top makes the perfect compliment for vanilla ice cream or vanilla yogurt. This mixture of apples and cinnamon warmed on the stove top makes the perfect compliment for vanilla ice cream or vanilla yogurt.
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

apples, 4 (or whatever number you have)
    cinnamon, 1 tbsp.
brown sugar, 6 tsp. (or, I used one tsp. of stevia to sweeten)

Directions

Peel your apples. I usually make this when I have a bunch of slightly withered looking specimens in the crisper. Slice the apples as though you were making applie pie filling. Place apple slices into a saucepan and add cinnamon and brown sugar or stevia. Cook until the apples are getting soft.

Then, top off your ice cream or yogurt while it is still hot.

Stove the rest in a sealed container in the fridge. Use up the remains within a week.

I made these today and they were very, very good. This will certainly satisfy my sweet craving. I did thicken the mixture just slightly by adding 1 tsp. corn starch and 2 T. water, mixed and then added to the apples, cinnamon, and my combination of splenda and 1 T. brown sugar to 2# apples. Yum! - 1/19/09

What a good idea to thicken it up a bit, sounds like you must be a baker at heart.
