Good flavor, but the applesauce in place of fats (oil or shortening) gave it a sort of chewy, almost rubbery texture. - 9/7/09

    Incredible!
Followed recipe exactly except added 1 Tbsp. flour for high altitude, baked 35 minutes at 325 in 8 x 8 sprayed glass "pan." Easy to make. Result was a delicious moist cake, 8 generous servings for only 90 calories each!!! Wow - 1/9/21

How long do you bake this if you make muffins instead of cake

Is there a missing ingredient because it came out being a pan of goo. Trashed it!

This was very good! It almost tasted a little like zucchini bread. I wasn't sure about the 10 oz. of applesauce -- I used 1 and 1/4 cups since 1 cup is 8 oz. - 10/11/11

I love apple-spice cakes, but the ingredient of cocoa "sounds" awful to me. Can you taste the chocolate? -- Or does this just enhance the spice flavor. Also, what would the cake be like with an egg added to the batter? Thanks! - 9/29/11

The picture looks like someone added an egg to the recipe. Mine came out like a chewy rubbery mess. Not Cake Like! Yuck. - 2/27/10

    Very Good
I found this very good as well, although I can see why A-Better-Life found it to be a little chewey. I'll happily make it again though. It's a great sweet snack. - 10/16/09

Looks delicious. I'd like to make this, and I have a question: did you use 10 fluid ounces of applesauce or 10 ounces (weight)? - 9/22/09
