Ingredients

    2 sweet potatoes
    1 tablespoon olive oil
    1/2 teaspoon chili powder
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon salt, plus more for sprinkling
    Juice of 1/2 lime

Directions

1. For the sweet potato fries, preheat the oven to 425 degrees.

2. Wash and dry the potatoes and, with the skin on, slice into 1/2-inch-thick rounds; cut the rounds into 1/2-inch-thick finger-shaped pieces. Toss the potatoes in a bowl with the oil, chili powder, garlic powder and salt.

3. On a baking sheet, spread the sweet potato fries in a single layer and roast, stirring every 10 minutes, until brown and tender, 30 to 35 minutes. Remove from the oven, transfer to a platter or bowl and sprinkle with a little more salt.

We slice ours like regular fries and don't use any lime. We only flip them once after 15 min. of cooking - 4/29/10

Just a couple of tricks I use when baking sweet potato fries... First after cutting them, soak them in cold water for an hour before cooking. Drain well and dry completely. Then toss with cornstarch or arrowroot before coating in oil and seasonings. They will get nice and crispy. - 8/17/16

I made these but I cut into wedges. I used chili powder, cumin, ginger and salt.I tossed them in canola oil. I did not have any olive oil. Paired them with a salmon burger. It was a hit with my meat loving husband. I will prepared this recipe again and again. Good Eats. - 3/12/11
