Introduction

My kids love tuna cassorole but it was packed with fat. So iI created this low fat dish and they don't even taste the difference. My kids love tuna cassorole but it was packed with fat. So iI created this low fat dish and they don't even taste the difference.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    8 oz of low fat cheddar cheese
    1/4 cup skim milk
    1 tbsp of butter
    9 oz of tuna in water drain and break up (starkist chunk white albacore)
    1/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs
    12 oz uncooked elbow macaroni ( ronzoni smart taste)
    dash of pepper
    1 tsp salt
    1 cup campbells cheese soup (condensed)

Directions

Preheat oven to 375. in a medium pot melt butter, add can of cheddar soup and skim milk mix until all melted together. Stir in 7 oz of shredded cheddar salt and pepper mix until blended and smooth. In a large cassarole dish pour a little cheese sauce on the bottom add pasta and tuna then pour melted cheese mixture over the pasta mixture. Mix bread crumbs and the remaining cheddar together and sprinkle on top. Bake for about 20 minutes or untill bubbling. Cool and enjoy!! Makes 10 - 5 oz servings

    Very Good
    The flavor is great! I added peas because that's what I think of with tuna noodle casserole. However, the recipe calls for uncooked pasta, so it took much longer than 20 minutes... Not sure if I misunderstood the recipe, but it tastes delicious anyway! - 3/26/10
