Ingredients

    Ingredients:
    Mixed Pulses in water (Sainsbury's) drained, 410 grams
    Lentils, 100 grams, washed
    1 large onion, sliced
    1 large carrots, cut into large chunks
    2 stalks of celery, sliced
    1 large yellow or red pepper cut into slices
    1 tbsp cumin seed
    1 tbsp coriander seed
    1 tsp chilli powder (or crushed chilli)
    2 tsp mustard seed
    3 cloves garlic
    400grams tinned chopped tomatoes
    30 grams tomato puree
    10 grams dark soft brown sugar

Directions

This is a very siumple dish to prepare. Simply mix all the ingredients together in a large casserole dish and cover with cold water. Place in the oven on 140 degrees celsius for at least 3 hours. Check occasionally that it isn't drying out. Makes two generous portions - could easily serve three. Serve with crusty bread or baked potato.
