Introduction

Ingredients

CRUST:
525g (4x250ml) flour
20ml backing powder
2ml salt
250g soft butter
325 to 350ml milk
1 egg
FILLING:
1 kg Mince meat
500ml cold water
70g / 250ml white bread
25 ml vinegar
salt and pepper
50g / 125ml grated cheese
Directions
METHOD:
Sift flour, baking powder, salt and pepper.
Grate very cold / frozen butter.
Work with fingers until it is a crumb consistency.
With a knife cut in milk until soft dough.
Rest in the fridge for 1/2 hour.
Fry mince a bit add water and boil until cooked.
Grate bread in and add rest of ingredients until limy.
Leave onside until cool.
Heat oven 180°C (350° F)
Divide dough in 1/3 and 2/3
Roll out the 2/3 and line a dish.
Fill up with the mince.
Sprinkle cheese over.
Roll out the 1/3 and put on top of the mince.
Roll sides over and cut little leaves with left over dough and put on top.
Brush pie with beaten egg.
Bake in oven until golden brown.
Servings: slice 16 by 1 inch pieces
