Introduction

Ingredients

    1 lb. lean ground beef
    1 small onion
    1 clove garlic
    1/4 cup wine - any kind
    3 T olive oil
    1 14.5 oz can Del Monte Organic diced tomatoes
    1 15 oz can Contadina Organic sauce
    1/2 lb. sliced fresh mushrooms
    1 bunch cooked broccoli rappini
    1 box 13.5 oz Dreamfields penne rigati

Directions

Brown meat
Remove from skillet and drain
Saute mushrooms
Add oil and saute onions until clear
Add garlic and saute 1 minute
Add wine and deglaze skillet
Simmer until reduced
Add meat back, stir and season with onion powder, garlic powder and pepper
Add canned sauce and diced tomatoes
Simmer until thickened
Add chopped parsley and basil if desired
Serve over cooked pasta and rappini
Note: This pasta has only 5 grams of digestible carbs
