Introduction
You can add more to this (my grandmother always used dried milk and coconut and almonds or other nuts), but this is a super simple granola recipe with maple syrup. If you don't have real maple syrup, don't use fake - just use honey. A serving is 1/4 c. Ingredients
-
4 c rolled oats
1/2 c wheat germ
1/2 c oat bran
1/4 c flax seed meal
1/2 c real maple syrup
1/4 c oil
1 1/2 c dried fruit (I used raisins and a dried fruit mix for fruitcake)
Directions
Combine dry ingredients (except for dried fruit) in a large bowl. Stir together maple syrup and oil and pour over dry ingredients. Toss until coated.
Bake at 250 ~30-45 minutes, stirring every 10 minutes or so so it doesn't burn.
Once it is cool, add dried fruit. Store in an air tight container. My grandmother always said "If you are eating more than 1/4 c of this, you are overeating." Enjoy with yogurt.
