These hearty waffles may be a bit high in calories, but they make a filling breakfast for any champion! Add a piece of fruit on the side and you're good to go! :)Recipe can easily be doubled. Ingredients

3/4 cup whole wheat flour
3/4 cup white flour
3/4 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp ground flaxseed*
2 tbsp chia seed*
1.5 cup buttermilk**
1/4 cup Smart Balance 50/50 butter blend, melted
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 large eggs
*Flax and chia are optional, but they add nutrition without affecting the taste, in my opinion.
**I combined 1.5 tbsp vinegar w/1.5 cup skim milk (let sit for 5 minutes) to imitate buttermilk - that's what the calories are based on.
Directions
Preheat George Foreman with waffle plates in place (or your choice of waffle iron). Meanwhile, combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. In a smaller bowl, beat eggs and then add other wet ingredients. Next, add wet ingredients to dry and mix until just blended.
For the George Foreman G5, pout 2/3 cup batter for each of the two plates and let cook for about 6-7 minutes. Follow manufacturer's instructions if using any other type of waffle iron.
