Introduction

I either use tomato sauce or whole tomatoes, peeled and blended. Put the tomato sauce, tomato paste and all the dry spices in a crock pot. Saute onion and garlic and add to the crock pot. Brown the kielbasa and the ground beef. Add the ground beef to the crock pot. I don't add the keilbasa until the last 1/2 hour. It tends to lose its shape being in the sauce so long. Cook for at least 4 hours. Note: I used extra lean ground beef but ground turkey is just as good! I either use tomato sauce or whole tomatoes, peeled and blended. Ingredients

    102 Oz Tomato sauce
    3 small cans tomato paste
    1 C red wine
    4 T oregano
    2 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. onion salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    2 T dried parsley
    Place all ingredients in a crock pot
    Saute:
    1 large onion, diced
    5-6 large cloves Garlic, minced
    Add to the pot!
    Brown the hamburger (or turkey) - I rinse the meat to
    remove as much fat as possible.
    Add to the pot and let it simmer at least 4 hours.
    30-60 minutes before serving add:
    Browned keilbasa - I use 2 pkgs.
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    Serve over whole wheat spaghetti! YUMMY!
