Great biscuits, not the most calorie/fat wise. Great biscuits, not the most calorie/fat wise.
Number of Servings: 10


    Flour - 1 cup
    Salt - 1/4 tsp
    Garlic powder - 1.5 tbls
    Baking powder - 3 tsb
    Cream of tarter - 1/4 tsb
    Milk - 1/2 cup
    Vegetable shortening - 4 tbls
    Grated sharp cheddar - 1/2 cup
    Butter - 2 tbls


Mix flour, salt, cream of tarter sugar, baking powder, and 1 tbls garlic powder.
Cut in shortening.
Add milk and cheese.
Mix till moist.
Divide and shape into "patties" and place on greased cookie sheet.
Bake, 425 12-15 mins (until golden).
Melt remaining butter, stir inn 1/2 tbs of garlic powder.
Brush mixture over biscuits upon removal from oven.

Makes 10 biscuits.
