Here's your basic homemade cornbread recipe with a couple of healthier twists. Here's your basic homemade cornbread recipe with a couple of healthier twists.
Number of Servings: 10

Ingredients

    1c yellow cornmeal
    1c all-purpose flour
    1/2c wheat germ
    2tbs sugar (optional)
    4tsp baking powder
    1/2tsp salt
    1c milk (I use 1%)
    1/4c egg substitute
    1/4c vegetable oil

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 425F. Grease or spray an 8-inch baking pan or cast iron skillet.
2. In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients. Add wet ingredients and combine until smooth.
3. Bake 20-23 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Makes about 10 servings.
