Introduction

Classic French Onion Soup without the Bread and Cheese. Classic French Onion Soup without the Bread and Cheese.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    4 c low sodium beef stock (broth)
    2 med yellow onions
    1 c Barefoot Merlot (or your preferred brand - can substitute any red)
    Oregano to taste
    Salt to taste
    1 tbsp EVOO

Directions

Slowly caramelize sliced onion (takes about an hour) in EVOO and salt and pepper. Once completely caramelized, add 1 c Merlot and 4 c beef stock. Allow to simmer for 30 minutes. Makes four to five 1-cup servings.
