Introduction
This is a recipe my mother taught me when I was a child, and I still enjoy making it to this day. It's a great recipe for that random day that you feel like cheating. Can be made healthier if you make your own cake mix and icing. You could also take the chocolate drizzle off if you want to make it healthier. Ingredients
-
1 Package 2-Layer Size White Cake Mic
1 Cup Crushed Oreos
2 White Frosting
2oz Semisweet Chocolate
1 tsp Shortening
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease two cake pans
2. Prepare cake batter according to box
3. Fold in crushed cookies
4. Divide batter between both pans
5. Cook according to package directions
6. Cool 10 minutes in pan then remove and let cool on wire rack
7. Frost cake
8. In saucepan, combine semisweet chocolate and shortening over low heat and drizzle on top of the cake
To decorate it more, you can add Oreos around the side and sprinkle crushed Oreos on top. I've also done it where I put a layer of crushed Oreos on the bottom of the platter and then put the cakes on top. (None of this is in the nutrition list however, so you will have to recalculate).
