Introduction
A hearty meat sauce served over wheat angel hair pasta. I used to make it with meatballs but found that making it a meat sauce saves on the fat and calories from the egg and bread crumbs and its just as yummy! Ingredients

1 lb extra lean ground beef
28oz Hunts Diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano
28oz Hunts Crushed tomatoes
3/4 C chopped onion
5 cloves minced garlic
1 TBSP salt
1 TBSP sugar
2-3 bay leaves - whole
2 tbsp Italian seasoning
Tomato Paste 8oz
3/4 tsp basil
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 TBSP Smart Balance Omega Oil
1lb sliced fresh mushrooms
8oz Barilla Plus Angel Hair Pasta
2 TBSP Smart Balance Omega Oil
Directions
Heat 2 TBSP oil in lg sauce pan or stock pot. Add chopped onion, garlic, ground beef, italian seasoning and salt. Cook until beef is brown and onion is soft.
Stir in tomatoes, sugar and bay leaves.
Cover. Reduce heat and simmer for 60 minutes.
Add tomato paste, basil, and pepper. Stir well and simmer for another 30 minutes.
Heat water and oil to boiling. Add pasta and cook for 6 minutes.
Serve 1 cup of cooked pasta with 1/2 cup of sauce.
***The seasoning really is a personal preference. Please feel free to adjust seasoning to fit your own taste.
