Ingredients

    20 oz stew meat lean
    1 Tbl plus 1 tsp oil
    1 medium carrot
    1/2 cup onion
    2 cloves garlic chopped
    2 small apples cored pared and chopped
    1.5 Cup water
    1/2 cup red wine
    2 beef broth packets
    1 bay leaf
    1/2 tsp thyme
    pepper to taste.

Directions

Brown meat in pan . Remove, Saute carrot, onion, and garlic. Add beef and remaining ingredients and stir to combine. Reduce heat , simmer with cover on for 25 minutes. Remove cover and continue cooking stirring often until meat is fork tender.
