Ingredients

Filling:
6 cups chopped apples
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
3 Tbsp flour
1/4 cup apple juice
Crust:
2 cups flour
3/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup shortening
6 tsp cold water
Directions
Preheat oven to 375
Peel, core and chop apples into large mixing bowl. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, salt and flour. Add apple juice and toss to coat. Set aside to season.
In medium bowl, mix together flour and salt. Cut in shortening until crumbly. Add water and mix into a soft dough. Divide crust into 8 parts and roll out one at a time into 6 inch circles.
Place 1/3-1/2 cup of filling in the middle of each crust and pinch into a bundle. Place in a greased 9x13 cake pan. Repeat with all 8.
Bake for 25 minutes. 1 dumpling = 1 serving. (Any ice cream you add is not included in the cal count! ; ) )
