I was looking for a recipe that incorporated beans into my diet to get more fiber and protein. I thought I love chili, how can I make it healthy and good to eat... without much meat.... Ingredients

    16oz dry black beans(soaked overnight before making the chili)
    28oz can Crushed Tomatoes
    6 oz can Tomato Paste
    7 slices of Turkey Bacon
    .5 cup Roasted Red Pepper
    1oz lemon juice
    fresh basil
    chili powder, salt, garlic powder, onion powder and onion, cilantro, black pepper and cayenne, crushed red pepper
    you can add whatever seasonings to taste... I like mine spicy!

Directions

makes 8 - 2 cup servings
garnish with fat-free sour cream or grated romano
