Introduction
I made these up on the fly last Sunday when I needed a quick meal for unexpected company. I think it's missing a little something but they were good non-the-less! Ingredients
-
Filling:
1 tsp butter (I use I can't believe its not butter light)
1/2 medium yellow onion
1/2 cup mushrooms Sliced
1 cup green bellpepper strips
1 Package lean ground turkey
3 oz Greek Yogurt
.25 cup milk (I use Lactaid fat free)
Dough:
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 tbsp butter (I use I can't believe its not butter light)
1/4 tsp salt
3/4 cup milk (again I use Lactaid fat free)
Directions
First melt the 1 tsp butter and cook the onions until they are translucent. Just before they are done add the bell pepper and mushrooms. Once the vegetables are done put them in a bowl and set aside.
In the same pan cook up the ground turkey. Then add back in the veggies and cook on low while adding the yogurt, and milk. It should make up a bit of a yummy gravy. If it needs thickening use a little flour or corn starch.
Sift the flour, salt and baking powder into a mixing bowl. Cut in the butter and then add the milk. Mix until a dough forms.
Roll out the dough on floured surface and cut into 8 equal pieces. Add filling to each piece and then fold over to create a sealed pocket.
Brush the tops with an egg white and then bake at 400 degrees for 15 minutes.
