Ingredients

2 Medium Kohlrabi, peeled and thinly sliced
2 Medium Turnips,, peeled and thinly sliced
1 1/2 cups 1% milk
3 T regular flour
1/2 cup finely shredded cheddar cheese
1 12 oz canned ham, cubed
1 cup fresh bread crumbs made from 3 slices whole wheat loaf bread
1 T garlic powder
Black Pepper to taste
Pam butter flavor cooking spray, 3 sprays
Directions
Boil turnips and Kohlrabi in water until tender. Drain. Heat milk; add flour and whisk until smooth. Remove from heat and add cheese, cubed ham, and seasonings.
Place Veggies in the bottom of casserole dish, top with sauce. Top the sauce with bread crumbs and spray the crumbs with the Pam.
Bake uncovered at 375 degrees for 35-45 minutes
Makes 4 generous servings.
To make the sodium count more friendly, use reduced sodium ham instead of the little canned ham in recipe.
