Ingredients
-
1 lb of Extra Lean ground turkey ( i like Jennie o)
1/2 tbsp Sesame oil
2 scallions whites and greens chopped
1 clove of chopped garlic or garlic powder to taste
2 tbsp of low sodium soy sauce
orowheat sandwich thins or pepperidge farm deli flats
SLAW
(usually do this the morning of for full flavor absorption)
8oz broccoli slaw
6 tbsp of Kraft light Asian toasted sesame dressing
1/2 oz or 1-2 tsp of toasted sesame seeds for garnish
Directions
Make 4 equal sized burgers
Combine the ground turkey, sesame oil, scallions, garlic and soy sauce until well incorporated.
sometimes I add a little pepper or siracha (asian chili sauce) for some kick. (spicy burns calories)
form into equal 4ish ounce patties and flatten fairly evenly for quick cooking
Heat grill to about 400-500 degrees
spray burgers with pam on both sides and place on grill
cook for about 5 mins per side you should get nice grill marks and an easy release from the grill. Flip (only once) this is the key to keep the burgers juicy. On cold days I use my grill pan or cast iron skillet and it can take a min or 2 more per side.
Remove from the gril, toast the sandwich thin if you like top with slaw and enjoy.
If you are needing more calories you can serve a side of brown rice, steamed edamame, or oven baked sweet potato fries
