Number of Servings: 6

Ingredients

    6 apples
1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped
2 tablespoons milk or vanilla Rice Milk (for those of us organic)

also caramel coating is very gooey, so refrigerate the apples for about 15 minutes before dipping,..

Directions

1.Remove the stem from each apple and press a craft stick into the top. Butter a baking sheet.

2.Place caramels and milk in large saucepan. cook on medium-low heat until caramels are completely melted and stirr constantly.

3.Dip apples into melted caramel until evenly coated, spooning caramel over apples if necessary. You should give time for excess caramel to drip off. Refrigerate at least 1 hour or until ready to serve. Add assorted *decorations* (such as chopped nuts, graham crackers, candy corn, chocolate chips, oreos, toffee bits, mini M&M's and candy sprinkles) Carmel and apples...simple and DELICIOUS!

How could this be 15 calories when the apple alone would be close to 100 calories? - 2/17/10

there is no way the calorie count in this recipe is correct. An apple (small size) alone is about 50 calories, then add the caramel. The nutrition info shows 15 cals per serving which is one dipped apple??? Not much confidence in this info - 10/22/09
