Ingredients

    Rolled Oats - 3 cups
    Whole Wheat Flour, 1 cup
Motts Natural Apple Sauce, 1 cup
    Brown Sugar, .5 cup, packed
    Cinnamon, ground, 1 tsp
    Salt, .75 tsp
    Cranberries, dried, sweetened 0.75 cup
    Honey, .5 cup
    Egg, fresh, 1 large
    Vanilla Extract, 2 tsp
    Almonds, .25 cup, sliced
    Wheat germ, crude, .5 cup

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Generously grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.

2. In a large bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, cinnamon, flour, raisins and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in the honey, egg, oil and vanilla. Mix well using your hands. Pat the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.

3. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the bars begin to turn golden at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into bars while still warm. Do not allow the bars to cool completely before cutting, or they will be to hard to cut.

Makes 24 2" pieces or 12 4" pieces.

A little chewy but nice level of sweetness. I halved the recipe and cut into 16 pieces (98 calories each) and they still make a filling snack! - 12/29/08
