Ingredients

    1 cup all purpose flour
    1 cup whole wheat flour
    2 teaspoons Baking Powder
    1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    1 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
    2 eggs
    1 cup canned pumpkin
    1 cup granulated sugar
    1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
    1/2 cup 1% milk
    1/4 cup applesauce
    1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
-Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and spices until well blended; set aside.
- Beat eggs, pumpkin, sugars, milk and apple sauce in large bowl with wire whisk until well blended. Add dry ingredients; stir just until moistened. Stir in chopped chocolate chips.
- Pour into 9x5-inch loaf pan sprayed with cooking spray.
- Bake 55 minutes to 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes. Remove from pan; cool completely on wire rack.

    Incredible!
    I used olive oil instead didn't have applesauce and I used all brown sugar. Turned out really well and tasted good.Next time will try using yogurt instead. - 12/22/18

    Very Good
    This turned out great; very most and flavorful. I love the use of whole wheat flour, and the nutritional boost of pumpkin. I would like to figure out how to lower the sugar content somewhat though. - 11/2/11
