Introduction
This is a recipe from The Ayurvedic Cookbook, page100. I didn't have fresh tomatoes or sesame seeds so i used canned diced tomatoes and some sesame oil and the calories etc. reflect that. Ingredients

1.5 cups dry chickpeas (garbanzos)
2.5 cups water
Use either long or quick soak methods for preparing the beans.
2 Tbsp. Sunflower Oil
.5 tsp mustard seeds
1 Ripe tomato, diced/chopped into 1/2 in pieces
1 tsp curry powder, mild
2 Tbsp sesame seeds
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp ground coriander seed
.5 tsp tumeric
Directions
Makes 6-7 servings (calorie calculations are for 6)
Prepare your beans. pressure cooker, long soak or quick soak, all acceptable. You want the beans VERY SOFT before adding them to the tasty bit.
In heavy skillet, heat oil. Ad mustard seeds when warm and heat til they start popping. Add tomato and curry powder. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add sesame seeds, chickpeas, coriander and turmeric. Cook for 2-3 more minutes.
Good with rice and Chappatis bread.
