Ingredients

    Flaked rice /Pohe (Raw,thick) 1 serving =1 oz or 1/2 cup, 4 serving
    Olive Oil, 0.5 tbsp
    asafoetida (hing), 0.25 tsp
    cumin seeds, 0.25 tsp
    peanut dry roasted 1 tablespoon
    Green chilly / Mirchi, 5 gram(s)
    Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia)
    Potatoes , 1 medium
    cilantro chopped 1 tbls

Directions

Take the flaked rice /pohe in sieve and wash it nicely, keep it aside for at least 10 mins so that extra water drips down and pohe get soft.In non stick pan, put olive oil and than some mustard seeds.when mustard seeds splutters,add turmeric powder,asafoetida ,green chillies ,peanuts and cook for few secs.Add finely chopped onions and tomatoes and then cook till it get tender.Add pohe to it.Add salt and lemon juice as per taste. Mix all the things nicely with spatula on low flame for 2 minutes.Serves it in plate, garnish it with chopped cilantro.

    Never heard of pohe before.. What exactly is it - 10/23/10

    Its an Indian snack item ..in English,I suppose they call it flaked rice..you can easily find it in Indian grocery stores.
