Introduction
This is a yummy breakfast dish or can be turned into an easy dessert This is a yummy breakfast dish or can be turned into an easy dessertNumber of Servings: 1
Ingredients
-
You can use white or brown rice to make this recipe. I make the chai tea first, make it a strong cup let it steep 8 to 10 minutes.
Once tea is done steeping put into pan, then add 1 cup rice let set for 10 minutes then add the additional 1 cup of water to complete the usual 2 cups water, 1 cup rice.
Cook covered for 18 to 20 minutes, take off the heat & check moisture in rice, if necessary add a little water then cover again let rest.
Then take off cover & fluff rice, then you can add a sprinkle of cinnamon or allspice. Enjoy
Directions
Make chai tea first, steep a strong cup of tea. I don't use sugar or sweetner but you can if you like.
Combine chai tea & 1 cup of rice let sit to marry the flavors, then add the remaining 1 cup of water. To have the 2 cups water to 1 cup rice, cook for 18-20 minutes. Take off the heat check pot for moisture, if necessary add just a little & fluff rice, let sit for 5 minutes then prepare to enjoy.
If you like add a sprinkle of cinnamon or allspice. If the chai flavor isn't as strong as you like, add 2 tea bags at the beginning of the recipe.
I like this as a breakfast, or a side dish, enjoy & find how you like to eat it.
