Introduction

A Japanese meal cooked on your dining table in a hot pot or electric frying pan. This is served with cooked rice and a raw, beaten egg to dip your food into after being cooked.
(Other vegetables may be added.)

Ingredients

    1 lbs standing rib roast, sliced paper thin
    1 - 1 1/2 lbs package tofu, cut into 1 inch cubes
    1 bunch green onions, cut into 1 inch pieces
    1 medium head chinese cabbage, cut into 1 inch pieces
    10 dried Shiitake mushrooms, soaked in water and cut into 1 inch pieces
    Other vegetables may be added
    1 lbs Udon noodles

    Sauce:
    1 cup low sodium soy sauce
    1 cup Meline (from Japanese store) or 1 cup broth
    3/4 cup sugar
    1/2 cup Sake (rice wine)

Directions

Add sauce ingredients to saucepan and heat till boiling.
Prepare table and set hot pot or electric fryingpan into the centre, add sauce, and heat till boiling point. Keep hot.
When all are seated, start cooking by adding meat to sauce, a few pieces at a time, followed by veggies, tofu, & noodles.
When cooked, dip in beaten egg and eat with cooked rice.
