Ingredients

Makhani Sauce:
- 1 Large Onion
- 1 tbsp Garlic , crushed
- 2 Cans Chopped Tomato
- 1 Can Tomato Paste
- 2 Cans Chickpeas
- 2 Large Punnets Mushroom
- 1 Container of Reduced Fat Cream
- Ground Cumin
- Curry Powder
- Almonds, ground
Cucumber Raita:
- Cucumber, chopped finely
- 1 Container plain yoghurt
- Ground Cumin
Kuchumber Salad:
- Cucumber , finely chopped
- Tomato, finely chopped
- Ground Cumin
- Half a fresh lemon
Directions
Sautee onions, garlic, curry powder and cumin in a frying pan until the onions are soft and translucent. Add canned tomatoes, ground almonds and tomato paste and simmer for 5 minutes. Blend the sauce until smooth. Add the cream after the sauce has been blended.
In a seperate pan sautee the mushrooms until cooked and add the chickpeas to heat them through. Add the blended sauce and warm gentley. (DO NOT HEAT VIGOROUSLY OR THE CREAM WILL CURDLE!)
Cucumber Raita:
- Mix the finely chopped cucumber (remove the seeds), yoghurt and cumin together.
Kuchumber Salad:
- Mix the tomato, cucumber and cumin together and sprinkle with freshly squeezed lemon juice (half a lemon).
Serve Chana Makhani with rice or bread. Serve Raita and Kuchumber salad on the side as a compliment.
