Introduction
I love creamy alfredo sauces, but I'm lactose intolerant and trying to lose weight. So cheese was out, and heavy cream. Instead I tried it with skim milk (that is fairly kind to me) and flour (we use it in Louisiana to thicken our gravy for our rice). I roasted a clove of garlic and mushed it into the milk/flour sauce for more flavor. Most of the prep time is just roasting garlic in your oven.

Ingredients
-
4 cups of skim milk
2 tbsp flour
6 cloves garlic
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
Directions
Roast a garlic bulb in your oven. Set the over to 400 degrees, put the garlic whole in a baking dish and drizzle it with the 1 tbsp EVOO. Bake for 40 minutes.
Mix 3 cups of milk and flour in a bowl until the flour disappears. Pour into a skillet, let it come to a boil. Add garlic and whatever spices and herbs you want to use, and the other cup of milk. Bring to a boil and add cooked meat, mushrooms, whatever vegetables you want to use. This is just the sauce, not a full pasta. Make it your own.
