    Beans, great northern, 5 cup (remove)
    *Pork, cured, separable fat (from ham and arm picnic), unheated, 4 oz (remove)
    Onions, raw, 1 cup, chopped (remove)
    Salt, 1 tbsp (remove)
    Pepper, black, 1 tbsp (remove)

Directions

soak beans over night
drain water add 6 cups fresh water, ham hock, chopped onion, and salt and pepper
bring to boil
reduce heat to medium low
simmer all day, stirring and adding water as needed.
