Ingredients

    1 (15.5 ounce) can garbanzo beans
    2 tablespoons roasted sesame tahini (typically found by the peanut butter)
    3 tablespoons water
    2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
    2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
    1 to 2 cloves garlic (use one if large)
    1 tablespoon good quality tomato paste from a tube
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/4 teaspoon onion powder
    1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Directions

Rinse garbanzo beans until the foam is gone; strain well. Place beans into a food processor bowl. Add the rest of the ingredients and puree until smooth, scraping the bowl as needed.

Serving Size: Makes about six 1/4 cup servings
