I remember my grandmother making this every Christmas. Now, I continue the tradition. Even with the cup of butter, each slice of this nutroll only has 112 calories! Number of Servings: 60

Ingredients

    1 packet yeast
    1 cupButter, unsalted,
    4 Egg Yolks,
    1 cup lukewarm Milk,
    1/2 tsp Salt
    1 T Granulated Sugar
    4 cup Flour, white,

    FILLING:
    4 egg white
    1 cup Granulated Sugar
    1 tsp Vanilla Extract
    2.5 cup Walnuts, chopped

Directions

Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup milk. Mix melted butter, egg yolks, remaining milk, salt and sugar. Add yeast mixture and flour. Mix well. Divide into 4 parts and rest in refridgerator overnight or 4-5 hours.
When you are ready to bake, beat egg whites stiff. Gradually add sugar and vanilla. Roll out each dough to about pie crust thickness. Spread egg mixture on dough. Cover evenly with ground nuts. Roll like jelly roll. Bake at 350 degree oven for 30 min. Makes 4 loaves of about 15 slices each.
