Ingredients
-
2 TLB butter, softened
6 slices whole wheat french bread, 3/4 inch
3 eggs beaten
1/4 c maple sugar
3/4 c nonfat milk
1 tsp vanilla extract (May use maple extract, or add cinnamon).
Directions
Spread butter in 7x10 pan. Place bread on top in single layer. Beat eggs, add sugar, milk and vanilla extract. Pour evenly over bread, and turn bread over. Cover tightly and refrigerate overnight.
Next morning, heat oven to 450 degrees. Bake french toast 10 minutes, turn and bake 10 minutes more. 3 servings
I'm sure it would be healthier if made w/egg substitute, Splenda, light soy milk and light bread, but I didn't!
