Buttery and delicious! You will never eat Pecan Pie again! You can make these much healthier by using 1/2 whole wheat flour, splenda, light butter, and egg substitute. Buttery and delicious! Ingredients

    Ingredients for Crust:
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 1/2 sticks of real butter (do not use margerine)

    Ingredients for filling:
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 stick real butter
    4 large eggs, lightly beaten
    2 1/2 c. chopped pecans
    1 t. vanilla extract

Directions

Combine flour, sugar, salt in lge. bowl; cut in 3/4 cup butter thoroughly with fork or pastry blender until fine crumbs. Press mixture into greased 13X9 cake pan. Bake at 350 for 17-20 min.

Combine brown sugar, corn syrup, 1/2 c. butter in saucepan; bring to boil over med. heat, stirring gently. Remove from heat. Stir 1/4 hot mixture into beaten eggs; add to remaining hot mixture. Stir in pecans and vanilla. Pour filling over crust. Bake at 350 for 34-35 minutes or until set. Cool completely before cutting. Yield 24 bars.

    I am rating this one because it is nearly identical with one I just made. I didn't need to bake it quite as long as this one indicates, though. I got rave reviews from several people when I took it to our church coffee hour today! I'm glad this recipe was on the site so I could use it in tracking! - 11/3/13
