Ingredients

Blackberries, fresh, 1.25 cup
Apples, fresh, 1 cup, quartered or chopped
Cinnamon, ground, 1 tbsp
Nutmeg, ground, .5 tbsp
Lemon Juice, 1 fl oz
Granulated Sugar, .75 cup
Butter, salted, .5 cup
Egg, fresh, 2 large
Vanilla Extract, 1 tsp
Flour, white, 2.5 cup
Salt, .5 tsp
Tips
You can also add cinnamon, brown sugar, or powdered sugar to the top if you'd like but will change the nutritional information of the recipe.
Directions
Pre-heat oven to 400F
To make the pastry:
1. Cream 1/2 cup sugar and butter.
2. Beat the eggs and vanilla well into the mixture until light.
3. Blend the All-Purpose Flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl.
4. Add the dry mixture to the butter mixture and blend until smooth then chill.
*Should make 24 3inch rounds
To make the filling:
1. Chop apple into 1/4 inch squares and quarter the blackberries.
2. Sprinkle with cinnamon, nutmeg, 1/4 cup sugar, and lemon juice.
3. Let stand a few minutes until juice is produced and flavors set.
To assemble:
1. flatten dough with rolling pin and cut into 3 inch rounds.
2. Place filling in center
3. Use water or egg wash along one edge to help bind and fold in half and pinch edge together.
To Cook:
1. Place on cookie sheet evenly spread (make take 2-3 batches)
2. Cook in oven for 10 minutes or until lightly golden brown.
3. Let cool 10 minutes
