Ingredients
-
Cookies:
2 cups of sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa
1 cup imperial margarine softened
1 cup sour milk
1 cup water
2 eggs
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
4 cups all-purpose flour
Frosting:
4 cups powdered sugar
1 cup imperial margarine softened
1 tsp salt
2 tbsp milk
2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp mint extract
1/2 cup crushed starlight peppermint candy.
Tips
The cookies are good on their own even without the frosting :).
Directions
Preheat Oven 400
Mix together the cookie ingredients making sure each ingredient is fully incorporated before adding the next. When adding the flour mix for 3-4 minutes to make sure it is well blended.
Drop in rounded spoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets.
Bake at 400, 7-9 minutes
Remove from oven and cool on a rack.
Make the frosting by combining all ingredients except the crushed mint candy. Frost each cookie and top with some crushed starlight candy (I like mixing the red and green mints to make it extra festive).
**This is a treat that I make to give away in small quantities...believe me, I give them away as fast as I can :)
