Introduction

Slim-fried Cabbage with garlic, onion, & red pepper flakes Slim-fried Cabbage with garlic, onion, & red pepper flakes
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

    1 head of cabbage, large
    1/2 red onion
    3 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp (or to your taste) red pepper flakes
    1 T olive oil
    salt & pepper to taste

Directions

Chop cabbage, onion, and garlic.
Saute onion in olive oil in large skillet or wok on med-high temp.
Once onion is soft, add garlic, then chopped cabbage & seasonings.
Simmer on MedHigh rotating cabbage top to bottom in pan every few minutes. Prepare to your liking - we like ours soft with a touch of crisp - that's about 10 minutes. Less for crispy, more for soft.

Am I the only person who's confused by the photo? It looks like it shows carrots and some kind of dressing that don't appear to be included in the recipe. The reviews all seem to be very good, so I'm sure this is delicious, but what's up with the photo? - 3/2/13

This was delicious! Used only 1 tsp of oil (avocado oil) and extra red pepper flakes since we like foods spicy. I also subbed yellow onion for red since DH doesn't like red onion. Sauteed til some pieces were nice and brown. Also omited salt. Definite make again. Thanks!! - 3/18/10

One of my absolute favorite recipes, ever! WE eat this often, and it goes with almost anything. Sometimes we eat it over red beans and rice, sometimes we just pair it with chicken or lean pork. - 1/26/10
