Homemade Red Sauce Homemade Red Sauce
Number of Servings: 40

Ingredients

    Olive Oil, 2 tbsp
    Garlic, 5 clove minced
    3 cans (29 oz) Pureed Tomatoes
    1 can Tomato Paste, (6 oz)
    1 large can (29 oz) Crushed Tomatoes
    4 tbsp Basil
    1/2 cup Granulated Sugar

Tips

I usually add meatballs to the sauce to simmer with the sauce. If vegetarian you can add meat substitute of your choice to simmer with this sauce.


Directions

Simmer Olive oil minced garlic and 1/2 the basil in large sauce pan. After garlic tender add puree tomatoes, crushed tomatoes, paste and rest of basil. Mix in sugar. Cook on medium to low for 2-3 hours. Stirring occasionally.

Serving Size: This feeds a big family. 1/2 cup sauce per serving= 40 servings
