Introduction
We drink these every morning for our "first breakfast." Not being much of a morning person, they give me the energy I need to get moving. We drink these every morning for our "first breakfast." Not being much of a morning person, they give me the energy I need to get moving.Number of Servings: 4
Ingredients
-
1 and 1/2 cups frozen fruit
1 fresh banana
2 cups unsweetened coconut almond or soy milk
8 - 10 drops of liquid stevia
2 scoops protein powder (As many as 4 scoops)
1 cup filtered water (More if needed)
1/4 cup flax seed oil (Optional)
Tips
Careful with the stevia, a little goes a long way. Too much and the smoothie will taste funny. You can include as many as four scoops of protein powder, but I like the taste of the smoothie better with only 2 scoops. The flax oil (optional) will slow the absorption of the fruit sugars and help you avoid a sugar spike.
Directions
Put coconut milk, banana and frozen berries, protein powder and stevia into blender. Blend on low and then on high. Add water until it blends easily. Poor and sip!

I start my mornings with this Smoothie and love it. It keeps me going until I have time to stop and sit down and eat. Variations are very easy just make it to suit your taste buds and needs. I add Greek Yogurt in place of one cup of coconut/almond milk, and switch walnuts for flax seeds. TRY IT!! - 2/20/18
