Ingredients

    1/2 large loaf french bread
    4 large eggs
1 3/4 cups half and half
    1/2 cup sugar
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla
    1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
    1/2 tsp nutmeg
    2 Granny Smith Apples
    1 T butter

Tips

Make ahead for breakfast with friends and family.

Directions

Slice bread into 1 1/2 inch slices. Spray 9x13 glass pan with nonstick spray (I use PAM). Place bread in glass dish, tightly together.
In separate bowl, beat eggs, sugar, half and half, and vanilla by hand with whisk for about one minute. Pour one half of egg mixture evenly over bread.
Peel, core and slice apples. Place sliced apples evenly over bread. Pour balance of egg mixture over apples. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Remove french toast from refrigerator and let stand on counter for 20 minutes. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 20-25 minutes.

    Very Good
The flavor is nice. Had to bake it twice as long and it didn't really hold together. That might've been due to my bread. Again, it has really nice flavor and will probably make this again. - 5/8/16
