Introduction

Protein rich spaghetti sauce Protein rich spaghetti sauce
Number of Servings: 8

Ingredients

1 can of chopped stewed tomatoes, no salt
1 can (6 oz) Tomato paste (optional)
2 cans of beans (not green, but I usually mixed navy and white beans)
    1 box of pasta, cooked
    Italian spices

Directions

This is great for left over pasta too!
Cook the pasta as directed, while that's boiling prepare sauce.
In a microwave safe bowl add stewed tomatoes and paste, mix well. The tomato paste is optional, if you preffer thinner sauce skip it. Once mixed drain and rinse beans and add to mixture. Add about 1 tsp of your favorite Italian spices. (I use an Italian herb grinder that has red pepper flakes in it. The red pepper really makes this dish pop.) Microwave on high around 5 minutes, or until heated.
Drain the pasta, and either serve as a sauce or mix together. Divide pasta into 2 oz servings for proper nutritional info.
