Introduction

Tasty and very easy homemade white soda bread. Tasty and very easy homemade white soda bread.
Number of Servings: 4

Ingredients

    170g plain white flour
    170g WR white flour
    290ml buttermilk
    .5 tsp bicarb
    Pinch of salt

Tips

Can add herbs to the mix or sprinkle on top.
Nice alternative : stir grated cheddar cheese into the mix and over the top before baking. Will up the calories and fat of course.


Directions

Mix flour, bicarb and salt.
Make well in middle. Pour in buttermilk, mixing well with spoon.
When a dough, but not too sticky, turn out onto floured surface and knead lightly for about a minute.
Shape into a round.
Place on an oiled baking tray.
Cut a large cross on top.
Bake for 30 mins till hollow on bottom
