Ingredients

    FIVE QUART CROCK POT

    Tuttorosso 2lb 3 oz can Italian Style Peeled Plum Tomatoes w/ natural basil flavor, 1 can

    Tuttorosso 2lb 3 oz can Crushed Tomatoes in thick puree with basil, 2 cans

    Muir Glen Organic Tomato Paste 6 oz can, 1 can

    Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia)
    cut in half and sliced thinly

    Garlic, 6 cloves sliced thin as possible

    Parsley, .25 cup no stems, chop finely

    Extra Light Olive Oil, 1 tbsp (remove)

    To taste:
    Salt, Pepper, Italian Seasoning dried (I like McCorkmicks

    Feel free to throw in some lean meatballs, chicken, turkey sausage, or pork for a meat sauce.

Directions

Empty canned tomatoes into crock pot. Crush the whole tomatoes to desired chunkiness for a hearty thick sauce. Add tomato paste, onion, garlic, seasonings, fresh parsley, and olive oil. Give it a stir and set to high. Makes about 10 1 cup servings. Enjoy it guilt free!

Freeze leftover sauce for future recipes!

This is a very healthy and low cal staple food to keep in the house. It wont take long to prepare. It can be thrown together the night before and refridgerated overnight.

You can use a cup of this and add it to some fat free ricotta and light mozerella cheese with whole wheat pasta for a lowcal comfort food lunch. Tomato sauce is versatile and super healthy!
