Introduction

Super yummy and super healthy banana nut bread. Super yummy and super healthy banana nut bread.
Number of Servings: 12

Ingredients

    2 cups whole wheat flour
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup walnuts
    1/2 cup applesauce, unsweetened
    1/2 cup honey
    2 egg whites
    3 mashed overripe bananas


Tips

You can add more or less honey for your desired sweetness.
Also, walnuts are optional.


Directions

1. Peel and slice bananas, mash.

2. In separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and walnuts.

3. Add egg whites, honey and applesauce to bananas, stir. Slowly fold dry ingredients to bananas until mixed thoroughly.

4. Pour mixture into greased bread pan. (I used cooking spray)

5. Bake at 350* for 50-55 minutes.

    Good
    I think this is not very sweet. I substituted maple syrup for honey since I was out of honey. I don't think it is very moist, but it is so low in calories, I enjoy it more. Next time I will add a little more sweetner and maybe some coconut oil. It was easy to make. - 3/23/16
