Introduction
Can use slow cooker, top of stove or oven for this yummy, healthy version of Beefy Macaroni. Add your favourite spices. Ingredients

1 cup finely chopped onion
2 cups uncooked whole wheat elbow macaroni
1 1/2 lbs extra-lean ground beef
1/4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
3 cups 1% milk
1 cup sliced fresh mushrooms
2 1/4 cups frozen peas
Directions
SLOW COOKER METHOD: Place onion & uncooked macaroni in slow cooker.
Scramble-fry ground beef in non-stick frying pan until no longer pink. Drain. Add to slow cooker
Stir flour, salt, pepper together in small pot. Whisk in milk gradually until no lumps remain. Heat, stirring constantly, till boiling and thickened. Pour over ground beef in slow cooker. Stir.
Add mushrooms & peas. Cover & cook on Low for 3 to 4 hours or on High for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
TOP OF STOVE METHOD: Cook macaroni per pkg directions. Brown ground beef & drain. Make sauce as above. Add everythng to large skillet & heat till hot.
OVEN METHOD: Prepare as "Top of Stove Method" but instead of using large skillet, transfer everything to casserole dish & bake in 325 oven for 30 mins
