Ingredients

    3/4 cup barley, (whole grain, not hulled) cooked
    1/2 cup nonfat skim milk
    10 walnut halves
    1/2 tablespoon maple syrup

Directions

1. Cook Barley as per instructions.

2. Warm nonfat milk in the microwave or stovetop until just warm, about 1 minute. Careful not to burn the milk.

3. In a cereal size bowl add the barley, warmed milk and stir in the maple syrup. Sprinkle the walnuts on top and serve.

Serving Size: makes 1-1cup serving
