Introduction
Wonderful over brown rice, with a side vegetable and a glass of skim milk! Wonderful over brown rice, with a side vegetable and a glass of skim milk!Number of Servings: 5
Ingredients
-
1 pound ground beef (I used 90% lean)
1 T minced garlic
1/3 cup chopped onion
8 oz can of tomato sauce
8 oz water
2 tsp chili powder
1 can (15.5oz) black beans (or any bean you prefer)
1 cup frozen corn
Tips
This is a basic chili con carne recipe, and feel free to adjust as you and your family sees fit. Ideas could be to add in a variety of beans, more or less corn, add in kale, different spices, or even a different meat (ground pork, turkey, or ground chicken). I love this over brown rice.
Directions
1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat with chopped onion & minced garlic.
2. Stir in water & tomato sauce & chili powder
3. Add in a can of beans (I drained the liquid out of mine) & the cup of frozen corn
4. Cover & simmer for 10 minutes or until ready!
