Introduction

I used to use the frozen green giant steam bags that are seasoned and they are packed with major sodium. I decided to start making this instead as a lower sodium alternative. Ingredients

    1 small onion, chopped
    About 1 cup white cabbage, chopped
    7 medium baby carrots, quartered
    15 asparagus spear tips
    1 large yellow bell pepper, chopped
    2 cups fresh broccoli, chopped
    1/2 lemon (juiced without seeds)
    1/4 tsp Mrs. Dash Tomato Basil seasoning
    1 tbsp EVOO

Directions

Coarsely chop onion, cabbage, bell pepper, and broccoli. Cut baby carrots into quartered strips. Rinse off vegetables in a collander. Heat a sautee pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and vegetables.

Squeeze lemon juice over vegetables. Add Mrs. Dash seasoning. Sautee for about 10 minutes, covered. Lower heat to medium-low to steam vegetables.

Add salt and pepper to taste. Can side with rice or whole wheat pasta. Makes 3 large servings, or 4 smaller servings. Nutrition content for 3 servings.
